We pay for what we eat
No comped meals, no press trips, no arrangement where a kind word is the price of dinner. If that ever changes for a piece, the piece will say so at the top.
Discover the intersection of food, travel, and culture with our blog, where we share stories, recipes, and insights that inspire your wanderlust and appetite.
Fevio started as a shared document of places worth the detour — the roadside kitchen an hour past the turning, the market stall that only makes one thing. It was never meant to be a publication. It became one because the list kept needing context: not just where to eat, but why that dish ended up there, and who carried it.
So the food writing keeps turning into travel writing, and the travel writing keeps turning into something closer to history. We have stopped fighting it. A recipe is a record of what was available, to whom, and when — which makes it one of the more honest documents a place produces about itself.
New writing lands most weeks. The podcast runs alongside it, built from the conversations that were too long, too specific or too good to compress into a paragraph.

A recommendation you cannot act on is a mood board. Every address we like appears in full, including the ones that are inconvenient to reach and better for it.
One visit tells you about one night. Anything we call a favourite has been eaten at least twice, on separate trips, usually a season apart.
Writes about the places where a meal turns into a whole story. Eleven years on the road, most of it in transit.
Travel editor with a weakness for night trains and roadside kitchens. Currently based between Hanoi and Lisbon.
Covers food culture for people who read the menu twice. Former line cook, unrepentant noodle partisan.
The shows are hosted by a separate group of six, introduced on their own pages under Podcasts.
